Aromatherapy is the art of using fragrances to heal and improve health
and well being.
Precautionary measures
Please read this section before using any essential oils.
Essential oils are very strong and certain precautions should be taken
in their use:
- Keep bottles secure and out of the reach of children
- Do not take the oils internally
- Do not put the oils neat in the eyes
- Do not use the oils for extended periods
- Store in a cool place separate from homeopathic medicines
- Increasing the dose of oils does not increase their effectiveness. Some oils in
large amounts are toxic.
- Never apply undiluted essential oils to skin, apart from lavender for minor cuts and
burns, and tea tree for spots and fungal infections, etc, and even these two should be
used in moderation. Essential oils should be diluted in a carrier
oil, and a patch test on an area of the skin for sensitivity.
- It is recommended that no essential oil be used during pregnancy without the
advice of a qualified Aromatherapist or Doctor
